About us

Michael has spent 30 years as a lawyer, in Dunedin and Nelson. Roxy has been a registered teacher, working in Auckland, Marlborough and Nelson.

We’re avid photographers and collectors of slides, postcards, letters and, of course, photographs. As our collection grew, we started to realise that we weren’t looking at the photos as much anymore. The kids had left home and we couldn’t share the memories with them or others. The photos were left fading – along with the memories – and started gathering dust in their storage boxes. 

We soon realised the only way to preserve our photos – so we could continue to enjoy and share them – was to scan them. So that’s what we did. 

And to tell you the truth, it was the best thing we could possibly have done… we now have decades of photos nicely organised in digital format. 

As it turned out, we weren’t the only ones facing this particular dilemma, so Scan4U was born with the vision of helping people preserve their precious photographs in an easily accessible and workable way. 

Aside from scanning and organising photos, slides, negatives and documents of any sort, we also specialise in image restoration. We can restore even the most faded, discoloured or scratched image to its former glory.
